SESSIONS BLOWING SMOKE - STATE MARIJUANA LAWS STAY
Jeff Ain't stuck in the 60's, He's stuck in the 50's.
"This is the good news, Attorney-General Jeff Sessions has apparently privately reassured some Republican Senators that he won't deviate from an Obama era policy of allowing States to implement their own marijuana laws."
Emma Vigeland - TYT Politics Producer ... comments.
I have some good news for stoners, specifically or anyone that believes in freedom. This issue is near and dear to my heart, that's all I'm gonna say. You know not gonna incriminate myself on the internet, but you know, you can do the math, so there's actually some good news.
MASS MEDIA SPIN - NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF POPULAR OPINION
Obviously, the Trump administration was you know, we weren't exactly sure how they were going to respond to marijuana laws .... because it's very popular. When you pull throughout the United States, most people favor legalizing medicinal marijuana, I mean it's overwhelming for that and most people favor legalizing recreational marijuana, so we didn't really know how the Trump administration is going to respond, but Jeff Sessions has been extremely out of touch on this issue for years and years and years.
Sessions is out of touch.
He made a joke and has not denied it, actually, kinda pushed back and said it was a joke, where he said uh oh I like the KKK until I found out they smoked marijuana now that was a few decades ago, but that gives you an indication for how he feels about drug users Jeff sessions may not, this is the news, be cracking down on the States, have legalized marijuana for recreational use.
50 TO 60% APPROVE OF TRUMP - 10% MASS MEDIA ARE POSITIVE
A few days ago he said some stuff that indicated that he would crack down, but there has been some push-back and let me take you through that today, but for everyone who hasn't known or haven't heard about this enough California, Massachusetts, Maine and Nevada all past measures in November legalizing marijuana for recreational use.
Colorado and Washington were the first to make headway on that issue and then
Oregon also followed the District of Columbia has some almost legalizing measures and you know there's decriminalized pretty much throughout the DC and Republicans you know they say they're all about big business and small businesses and these are startup businesses, are creating a lot of jobs in the States, but you know those farm and alcohol companies really need their cash, but listen to this.
MMJ JOBS - 12,500 in Oregon
In Oregon alone a 12,500 jobs have been added says an economist, but Whitney of Portland added, that it's a conservative estimate and listen to these projections on how much how many jobs it will create going forward, a new report from new frontier data projects that by 2020 the legal cannabis market will create more than a quarter of a million jobs. This is more than the expected jobs from manufacturing, utilities or even government jobs.
MARIJUANA FASTEST GROWING HEALTHCARE SECTOR
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) says that by 2020 - manufacturing jobs are expected to decline by 814,000, utilities by 47,000 jobs and government jobs will decline by 383,000 while the fast-growth, fastest-growing industries are healthcare-related and that includes marijuana.
The legal cannabis market was worth an estimated 7.2 billion dollars in 2016 and is projected to grow with a compound annual rate of seventeen percent that is really significant growth. Medical marijuana scale sales are projected to grow from 4.7 billion in 2016 to 13.3 billion in 2020 and adult recreational sales are estimated to jump from 2.6 billion in 2016 to 11.2 billion by 2020.
BILLIONS IN MEDICAL MARIJUANA
Let me just repeat that estimated legal cannabis, 7.2 billion in 2016 projected to grow at an annual rate of seventeen percent, get your investments and now medical marijuana scales sales projected to grow from 4.7 billion to 13.3 billion and 2020 and the recreational sales are jumping from 2.6 billion to 11.2 billion in four years that is a lot of ganja god I sound like my parents, but that is a lot of money and a lot of pot so apparently you know Republicans, when you're against marijuana, I guess you're not really about jobs.
IF YOU BELIEVE IN FREEDOM AND JOBS THEN....
I thought the Trump administration was all about bringing jobs back to America looks like the jobs are there, that's where the growth is , but you know they're obviously hypocritical on a variety of things, but this is the bad news that we got a few days ago and now I will get to the good news after that.
SESSIONS REPRESENTS A SOLDIER OF THE LAW
Session said this, I don't think America is going to be a better place when people of all ages, particularly young people are smoking pot. I believe it's an unhealthy practice and current levels of THC in marijuana are very high compared to what they were a few years ago,but that's like every adult like a really old person says it's so much stronger than when I was young. I bet you partook Jeff Sessions didn't everybody?, but now you want to lock people up for it. Of course, how would you know we're seeing real violence around that.
BY NOW "EVERYONE" KNOWS MARIJUANA IS NOT DANGEROUS
Yes, marijuana instead of eating potato chips on the couch, they're going out and taking up rifles and shooting people up, that's what the effects of marijuana do for sure, he added experts are telling me that there's more violence at home around marijuana than one would think, and there's big money involved, there are certainly is big money Mr. Sessions, but I'm pretty sure that that's going right into your pocket. Sean Spicer said afterwards that there would be greater enforcement of federal marijuana laws throughout the country.... so much for States rights.
REAL REPUBLICANS NEED TO LOOK AT THE CONSTITUTION - STATE RIGHTS
Right Republicans, I thought you were all about States rights and not trampling on their freedom. They want to enforce legalizing marijuana. Why do you have to step on them for that. I guess you're just massive hypocrites that don't really have a core ideology to accept money.
This is the good news .... Attorney-General Jeff Sessions has apparently privately reassured some Republican Senators that he won't deviate from an Obama era policy of allowing States to implement their own marijuana laws.
SESSIONS MAKES EVERYONE NERVOUS
Sessions has rattled both libertarians and liberals and ordering review of the Hands Off policy under president Obama. By the way, Obama could have taken marijuana on the schedule 1 drug list, why like why didn't you? I thought you were a liberal commie according to the right, but anyway, Sessions provided some private insurances two Senators .... that he confirmed .... that he was not considering a major shift in enforcement, despite his opposition to the use of marijuana.
SESSIONS PROMISE TO RESPECT STATE RIGHTS - THE CONSTITUTION
He told me that he would have some respect for States rights on these things and so I'll be very unhappy if the federal government decides to go into Colorado and Washington and all these places and that's not what my interpretation of my conversation was with him. That was not his intention .... said Rand Paul of Kentucky. Obviously Senator Rand Paul is a libertarian and is in favor of legalizing marijuana.
TRUMP HAS TO DRAIN THE SWAMP - REPUBLICANS THAT MUDDY THE WATER HAVE TO GO
You know, I often say that libertarians and progressives often have more in common than sometimes corporates and democrats .... so good on Rand Paul, but a large group of bipartisan Senators aren't taking any chances. They sent a letter on Thursday urging Sessions to uphold the Obama era policy of allowing States to implement their recreational marijuana laws .... after the Trump administration has indicated they could crack down on marijuana. That effort is led by Senators Elizabeth Warren and Lisa Murkowski, Republican of Alaska who hail from States that legalized marijuana.
OK guys you know, we can hate on Elizabeth Warren, throughout the primary and for what she did, she didn't stand up when she needed to, this is some of the stuff .... the little stuff behind the scenes ... that makes a difference. By the way, Lisa Murkowski was the other Republican besides Susan Collins to vote against Betsy DeVos so Murkowski has a conscience, as the Republican Senator from from Alaska.
THROUGH THE FOG OF WAR - LOOKS LIKE MARIJUANA - OK
Press secretary Sean Spicer is into that, greater enforcement I mentioned that earlier and Sessions said this week that he is dubious about marijuana, but Senators are beginning to push back...... we respectfully request that you uphold DOJ's Department of Justice is existing policy regarding States that have implemented strong effective regulations for recreational use.
The Senators Murkowski and Warren wrote to Sessions ... it is critical that States continue to implement these laws, so that's the good news, apparently he's privately reassured some of the Republican Senators from those aforementioned; States have legalized recreational marijuana. There's also been massive headway on legalizing a medicinal marijuana, so apparently Sessions has privately reassured some of those Senators, both Republican and Democrat that he may not crack down as hard as he says in public.
MARIJUANA POLICY - A TRUMP CARD FOR TRUMP
It is an extremely popular policy - marijuana - so I can't imagine that this would be politically advantageous to him, but he is in my opinion, a staunchly to staunch demagogue in his heart, so Sessions, he's really racist and really just like really old school, like nineteen fifties at heart and mind .. that's the that's the right way to go about it. so you know. who knows? But this is extremely heartening and I like that the story was leaked to Politico, maybe the public pressure of what Senators warned Murkowski are doing will get to Jeff Sessions ....
So you know, smoke up ladies and gentlemen, have a great weekend, maybe smoke some pot and relax.
