WATCH REEFER MADNESS 1936 - VOTED WORST MOVIE EVER
They don't make them like that anymore.
"Yes. I remember. Just a young boy... under the influence of drugs... who killed his entire family with an axe." - Dr. Carroll:
Reefer Madness is now considered to be a hilarious cult classic, but at the time of its release in 1936, the film was actually taken seriously by a portion of America that knew nothing about marijuana, and swallowed government propaganda, hook, line and sinker.
Mad Reefer fans enjoy the film for the same unintentionally campy production values that made it a hit again in the 1970s.
The LA Times claimed that Reefer Madness was the first film that an entire generation embraced as "the worst or the worst." Leonard Maltin coined it "the granddaddy of all 'Worst' movies." Las Vegas CityLife voted it the "worst ever" runner-up to Plan 9 from Outer Space. AMC described it as one of the worst movies ever made. The film holds a 46% rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes with thumbs up for its over the top farcical "quality".
"I'm going to ask you a straightforward question: isn't it true that you have, perhaps unwillingly, acquired a certain habit through association with certain undesirable people?" - Dr. Carroll:
Nostalgia Critic, Doug Walker said is was so misinformed about what its trying to inform you about, that the hilarity speaks for itself (referring to the morons who made the movie).
While nobody should think that taking illegal drugs is good, it’s so fun to see just how extreme some people will go to convince us that even the most harmless of drug is the worst thing in the world.
Now roll a fat one, sit down and watch the movie.
