This snack can be a very wholesome and nutritious, if you all organic ingredients, the base popcorn, fresh herbs and spices along with quality non-sprayed.  Quality garlic is good for you, cannabis butter is good for you, sea salt is good for you, quality parmesan cheese in small amounts can be tolerated by most everyone.

The effects of edibles last for about eight hours and more, so it is important not to add too much marijuana into the mix, or else you'll be stoned for half a day or more.


  • 1/2 cup or 4 oz kernels of organic popcorn
  • 1 tablespoon real virgin olive oil

  • Pop the popcorn any way you want, but the following method is recommended.
  • Put the olive oil in a 4 quart heavy pot and heat at medium heat for one minute.
    Stir in the kernels, turning with a spoon so that they are covered with oil.

  • Spread them in one layer where all kernels are touching bottom.

  • Turn up heat to medium-high.

  • Cover the pot and wait, shake around a bit every minute.

  • After the first kernel pops, smoothly shake the pot around continuously back and forth over medium-high heat until the popping stops.

  • Remove from heat.  Place pot on another burner on low heat..

Heat the cannabutter in a small sauce-skillet pan at low-medium heat.  Stir the oil with a wooden spoon (never use plastics in cooking) until it bubbles and foams (takes a couple of minutes). Add spices and mix one minute.  Salt can be added now or later.  The cannabutter is now ready to pour on the popcorn.  

Note: Watch that the heat is not too hot where fumes come off and the cannabutter becomes overly brown, because once it's burnt it becomes bitter.  Also, if the oil starts to smell nutty, back off on the heat and remove immediately..  

Drizzle the hot spicy cannabis-butter over the popcorn (that is sitting on the burner at low heat). Sprinkle with the Parmesan and then add the sea salt to taste. Stir up the popcorn with a wood spoon to evenly distribute the cannabutter and spices.Get it while its hot.   Leftovers can be kept for several days in an airtight container.

The way to calculate the THC content in your edible is to first find out how many mg of THC is in your oil.   Then figure out how many mg is in the amount you added to your recipe.  Then divide the number of servings by the amount you added and that is the dose.

For example, it the THC content of your marijuana is 20% and you 10 grams to prepare your oil, it has 0.2 x 10g or 2 g THC in it.  This is equivalent to 2,000 mg.  The amount of THC that can cause a significant response is only 10-20 mg.  This means that your oil is good for 200 servings! at 10 mg per serving.   Some veterans can handle much more 50 to 100 mg and they can adjust the amount of THC in recipes accordingly.
