Post Traumatic Stress disorder is caused by unresolved life threatening events.   Symptoms include flashbacks, bad dreams panic attack and panic anxiety, which severely impairs mental function.  PTSD can be triggered once in awhile or constantly.  It is often the case that PTSD lasts for years and even a lifetime.
